Research Interests

Controlling the dimensions and spatial arrangements of the individual components of a composite material on the nanoscopic level is important in the fabrication of advanced electronic and optical devices. Our research involves the synthesis and characterization of chemically modified metal nanoclusters, nanoscopic polymer-metal cluster composites, hollow polymer nanocapsules and molecularly bridged nanocluster arrays. The unique properties of nanometer-sized particles make them useful in such diverse applications as drug delivery, gene therapy, molecular electronics and single-molecule detection.
