The Laser Imaging and Vibrational Spectroscopy Facility (LIVSF) at North Carolina State University is located in the Department of Chemistry 104 Partners III and was established by Dr. Stefan Franzen in 2002. In summer of 2007 the facility took over responsibility for the microscopes that had previously been part of a research center and thus expanding into the field of optical microscopy.
Partners III is located on the new state of the art Centennial Campus which is a high tech facility devoted to nanotechnology research. Centennial Campus is viewed by many educators around the country as the campus of the future because of it’s a mixture of university, corporate, and government R&D facilities. The LIVS facility contains a number of modern microscopes and vibrational spectrometers which were obtained in part with funds from private foundations, National Science Foundation and NC State University. LIVSF primarily serves the NC State campus but is also available to researchers from other universities and industries.
For additional information about the facility or to setup a research appointment please contact Dr. Evgeny Danilov ( ). Collaborations are always welcome.
