Why does the Diet Coke float and the Coke sink?

What does Coke have in large quantities that Diet Coke does not have? ... Sugar. There is enough sugar to make the Coke more dense than the Diet Coke. It is interesting that either would float if you think about it since both are placed in aluminum cans which is very dense. However, there is a bubble of CO₂ trapped in the can which makes both less dense than they would be if filled completely. However, only the Diet Coke is less dense than water.
