Faculty Research
The Department of Chemistry’s 22 research-active faculty conduct
research that spans the traditional areas of chemistry as well as interdisciplinary
areas such as materials science, nanotechnology and biotechnology.
Undergraduate Research
Students are offered the opportunity to directly participate in an independent
research project in a highly multi-disciplinary environment.
- Undergraduate Research provides valuable
work experience, an opportunity to earn credit towards graduation, and
an opportunity to compete for scholarships to NCSU Chemistry majors.
- Chemistry Honors Program encourages
excellent students to pursue an undergraduate program that will challenge
their abilities, expose them to research problems, and prepare them
for graduate studies or other rewarding professional careers.
