Undergraduate Research

The Department of Chemistry is pleased to announce the availability of three Undergraduate Research Scholarships for the academic year 2008 – 2009. Each award requires a commitment to one year of research (two semesters, beginning Fall of 2008) in a research group in the Department of Chemistry. • Rohm and Haas Company will sponsor an Undergraduate Research Award Competition that encourages minority students in chemistry (and other fields) to participate in undergraduate research. Students will submit original research proposals and six finalists are invited to attend the National Organization of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE) annual conference to give 15 minute oral presentations. The award consists of travel and lodging for the conference, a cash award, and an offer of a paid summer internship at Rohm & Haas. Interested students who meet the eligibility requirements should contact Brent Gunnoe ( ) for additional information.
