Undergrad Research Scholarshps Awarded

The Department of Chemistry has awarded five Undergraduate Research Scholarships for the 2007-2008 academic year. In addition, one chemistry major has received a Beckman Undergraduate Research Scholarship. Congratulations to the recipients! Descriptions of each award can be found below the list of recipients.

1) Robert Proctor Undergraduate Research Scholarship: An applicant for the Robert Proctor Undergraduate Research Scholarship must be a rising senior undergraduate chemistry major. The scholarship requires a one-year (two-semester) commitment to research and provides a $1250 stipend to the student and $750 for research supplies.

(2) GlaxoSmithKline Undergraduate Research Scholarship: This award requires a one-year (two-semester) commitment to research in the Department of Chemistry at NCSU. The award provides a $1250 stipend to the student and $750 for research supplies.

(3) BASF Undergraduate Research Scholarship: These awards require a one-year (two-semester) commitment to research in the Department of Chemistry at NCSU. The award provides a $1250 stipend to the student and $750 for research supplies to each student.

(4) Beckman Undergraduate Research Scholarship: This award provides > $19,000 to support research efforts over a period of 1.5 years.
