Get Involved

For students
NC State students have the opportunity to connect with China in a number of ways.
The university has a study abroad program in China. Highlights of the program include cultural classes, excursions and events, and getting to know Chinese students at the universities.
NC State also offers language and Chinese cultural opportunities on campus. Mandarin courses at the beginning and intermediate levels are offered through the Foreign Languages and Literature Department.
The Chinese Student Scholars Friendship Association is an active campus student organization that provides numerous programs throughout the year— providing a portal into Chinese cultural life. Visit: http://www.ncsu.edu/oisss/resources/intlstdntorgs.htm

For Faculty
NC State faculty also have the opportunity to develop more extensive research, teaching, student exchange, and sabbatical opportunities with our four partner Chinese Universities. For example, the more formalized arrangement with ZJU will allow our faculty to focus more on their teaching, and leave most of the logistical arrangements up to program coordinators. ZJU will also facilitate contact with colleagues in related disciplines, so that faculty can pursue opportunities for future collaborative research.
Similarly, the Office of International Affairs works to expand the list of pre-existing faculty connections in China. We hope faculty will step forward and send us the details their work in China and help us to facilitate new partnerships.
NC State faculty have the opportunity to take language courses as offered through the Foreign Languages and Literature Department in preparation for trips to China. Visit the Foreign Languages Chinese Studies website: http://sa.ncsu.edu/fl/chinese/
