"Do you have any comments concerning the difficulty or ease of using ClassTech rooms ?"
I have had very few problems, everything I've used works fine
I use several different ClassTech rooms and all of the cameras are different. It would be less confusing to have one type for ease of use, but this is not a big deal. Having access to the technology at all is great.
I don't care for the glass counter-top counter with horizontal pc screen underneath. I find it very difficult to use, as the overhead lights reflect off the glass, making it almost impossible to see what is on the screen. It also forces you to look down, and away from the students while doing anything on the computer. The above-desk screens are much more user friendly, and can easily be moved aside when not in use.
Very accessible
Very easy to use equipment in Dabney 220.
In the room I taught (1231), the lighting controls were not intuitive or marked.
please post contact information so that if we had problems we know who to contact in a panic.
I have found the rooms very easy to use.
It has generally worked well. Although I'm pointing out some issues, I don't want to obscure the fact that in nearly all cases, things work well and are good to go. Thanks.
In 2722 Bostian, the screen covers the blackboard. You are essentially stuck with either one or the other & using both is not really an option. That reduces flexibility.
The console/projector systems are very easy to use. Getting them to agree with different laptops is dicier.
For the most part things run very well.
Room lighting is a big problem - but I don't think you are responsible for lights. They are different in every classroom and very confusing.
Everything was very easy and convenient.
Very easy
no--everything is easy to use
No problems after the first use.
They were very easy to use except for making adjustments at the projector level.
None
Computer is very easy to use and quick to set up.
I have had problems switching the Questron from PC to VCR. Several times nothing happened with the projector, and I was not able to show a movie.
Often find the document projector will not project when I turn it on when the ceiling projector is already on. I have to either turn-off and back-on the ceiling projector which takes a lot of time for cooling and restart.
Very easy ... after you have been shown.
Very user friendly.
Easy to use, except if there is not a pull-down string on the projector. I am short and had to ask a tall student to pull down the screen several times.
The flat screens have improved students' and professor's visibility of the classroom. However, in the Winston first floor Social Science lab, the ceiling is low, therefore the screen is low. If one sits in the back of the room, one can only see the top half of a PowerPt presentation. Don't know if it would be possible to have a screen on right side of room and screen on left side of room (like a sports bar), rather than one in the middle? That way students on either side of room could see and professor standing at workstation in the middle of the room wouldn't block view of screen. (I try to move around, but noticed this during student presentations.)
The equipment is set-up to maximize the ease of use. I am very pleased with the current setup
I think they are very user friendly. One think I wish they did have were better ways to control the dvd/vcr (to stop, FF and RR).
The ClassTech room was very well-maintained and the staff very responsive. All of the technology was available when I needed it, and the information I needed to run the equipment was always readily available. Thank you very much!
I love the ability to move from one room to another and find a familiar interface. I have taught single classes in several different rooms this semester, and I was able to master the equipment immediately.
I basically taught myself everything. It wasn't too hard.
I loved Tompkins G118. Allowed me to retool the class I had taught for even more IT use.
With instruction, very accessible and easy to use for most applications
Excellent resources and staff...
I sent by separate e-mail with a number of suggestions about capture Audio/video in Dab 220. Since I sent them from home, I don't have a copy here, but I hope that you can find them from early today (Bill Switzer; 12/12/06). The rest of the classroom operation could hardly be easier.
Personnel have been very helpful the few times I have had a problem.
