"Do you have any comments concerning the difficulty or ease of using ClassTech rooms ?"
Love being able to write on slides by writing directly on the computer monitor. (Although i prefer to write on the board -- see below.)
They are quite convenient.
It seems easy enough
I often find that switching back and forth between sources (like the document camera and the PC) is tedious.
I was pleasantly surprised by how user-friendly everything is.
I think they are easy to use and the few times I have needed help it was easy to get. You might want to post the help number to call min 532, or if its already there, make it easier to find.
generally very easy.
easy to use
Room was easy to use.
Not if they are not disturbed.
Witherspoon is a "dream environment" to someone like myself who spent 20 years teaching in Withers 218 when it had no working support, in general.
I find the rooms easy to use. Having a common interface in all rooms is very helful.
Extremely easy to use. These classrooms are heaven!
Delightfully intutive in design.
Volume control still does not work well in room 160.
Everything is easy to use and works well.
I've wanted to use the computer but haven't been able to find the power button. Have used the projector or visualizer and am delighted with the way it works.
Thanks for your quick response time.
It was surprisingly easy. I didn't know about the 10 minute response goal, but it sounds good. What's a "clicker"? (Okay, tell me I'm out of it. In return, I'll explain what "string" and "tin cans" are.)
No, they are great. I have really changed my teaching to be more multimedia (and more interactive around such material) as a result of the availability of these tools.
Seems pretty straight forward
I pretty much taught myself how to use everything and find everything to be pretty easy.
Everything I used worked well.
easy
I occasionally get feedback on the wireless microphone as I walk about the classroom.
The class is easy to use.
granted the systems have been new this term, but i have had problems with the machines all term: switching back and forth between functions, getting the dvd or vcr to work, sound... you name it, i have called it in.
Quite easy -- equipment worked reliably, all necessary software was available, desktop filespace convenient to access from anywhere.
Pretty easy.
the control panel for the dvd player is terrible. to use the control panel keys (e.g., 'next' button, 'enter,' etc.) it requires a very precise kind of touch (which i've yet to master despite using the dvd nearly every class), and sometimes touching the key equates to multiple touches. thus, to show a clip from a dvd, this sometimes can take 2-3 minutes to get it set up because i have to continue to mess with the control panel.
Very easy to use and extremely helpful - thank you.
Easy.
Since I teach a course that contains a lot of mathematics, I don't use overheads. I write on the board a lot. Having to roll the projection screen up and down to show computational results from the computer is tedious and slow. I can't leave the screen down and write on the board at the same time. It takes up too much space. The projection screen should be located to one side instead.
Most everything is intuative--the manual is well done. I have noticed in all the rooms I've used that the control panel for the vcr/dvd is slow to respond. It's sort of hard to control programs sometimes...but it's not a big deal.
Projector lens still has not been replaced, causing image to be less than full-screen. Would be nice to get this.
Equipment was easy to use, esp for somone like myself who is very non-technical
No problems, pretty intuitive. There are a couple of tricks: for example you can hide your navigation with the screen on by switching the output, might pass that on since the projector takes time to warm up.
Room 107 Harrelson worked very well for me.
The lightbulb on the projector would flicker between white and purple light making it very difficult for my students to focus on the content of the class. Also, the lightbulb on the tech control panel was almost never working so for the first 3 weeks of class I had to guess how to turn everything on and off - quite frustrating. I finally resorted to writing down what each button was for so that even when the lightbulb was burnt out I could get my slides up and running. I would suggest labeling all the buttons on the consoles in other classrooms to avoid this issue.
This being the first time myself having no choice but to use, the new technology, I have been careful in selecting what I am able to do, based on the session I had with you at your labs. As my confidence grows, I will avail myself of more of what you provide. Let me assure you that it is making teaching much easier for me, and I am glad I moved into this situation in Withers from Harrelson. Thank you for your services as I know that I can always call upon you using the phone in the lecture room.
