"Please provide any other comments you have about ClassTech rooms, their support or classroom technology in general ?"
This was the first semester that I have used a Class Tech room and have had no problems with the computer during the semester. I use the computer every class session, so I was quite impressed with the success this time. Thanks.
I detest the fact that I do not have the ability to write on the board while keeping the screen down. To the extent that ClassTech has a say in the design of classrooms in the future, PLEASE urge the powers that be to not cover the entire white board with the projection screen. Being forced to raise the screen to use the board is a pain and a waste of time; being forced to choose powerpoint over a more multidimensional lecture is deadly.
I am satisfied with the way they are.
The one major failure was due to the projector overheating because filters were dirty. ClassTech responded promptly to the report, but shouldn't preventive maintenance be the norm?
I had a couple of problems in my classroom and they were fixed very quickly
REPLACE WHITE BOARDS WITH cHOCK BOARDS
When I called with questions, both the support staff on the phone and in person were very polite and helpful.
I believe that the image from the projector in Poe 216 used to be much bigger (i.e., covered much more of the projection space available). A lense should be purchased and used that projects an image large enough for students in the back of the room to see easily.
I have not been able to log in to the computer in FOX since mid semester, when I had to change my Unity password. I've used the classtech workstation only login, but I would like to be able to login as myself. Projectors were unplugged all the time in this room. The remote mouse's batteries are always dead.
Please keep your website up to date so we can tell ahead of time which classrooms have what technology when we're requesting rooms.
keep up the good work
Very satisfied this semester
Main campus really requires Tech facilities in many class rooms and it is difficult to offer anything in terms of website contents without those facilities.
I appreciate ClassTech bringing together those with experience with clickers so that we could see the real situation rather than just the image that a salesman would like us to see.
I enjoyed using the tech part of Harrelson 210, seating for giving quizzes still not optimal
I like the tech part of the classroom, but I don't like the desks at all. I think a tech classroom should be larger and have tables or some arrangement other than 1-piece, slant-top desks.
Would like to have an easy way to make videos in class and then immediately burn CD/DVDs to distribute to students for self-evaluation. Also would like a microhone.
Why no speaker's stand?
ClassTech is doing a great job!
Would have used the technology more, but it wasn't ready in our room for a long time.
I'm sure you are lovely, but I don't understand why Design is out of the loop. What kind of image is English showing? Sentence diagrams. I have 2400 images, digital, and its a disaster.
Thanks for all the work you do to help us and to help the students become more engaged in the learning experience.
Again, having a conputer ready to go, in which I can just insert a flash drive, is so much easier than bringing and setting up a laptop. It really allows me to focus on the students in the 10 to 15 minutes before class.
Of course money is always a problem, but I'd like to advocate for more Class Techs. I'm also interested in how the classrooms are allocated. As I was saying, our scheduling officer says so far she has been unable to secure any classrooms for next semester. Is this a first come first serve basis? I'm curious why I won't have any class tech classrooms next semester while in the past it has never been a problem. Is this due to an increase in demand or a change in scheduling officer? PS I don't know what a "clicker" is.
thanks
I love having the technology and would like to use it even more in the future!
Overall, I'm pretty happy. Things work well, staff are available & supportive--frankly, it makes me look good.
Thanks!
i also wish the desk was not way over in the corner of the large room, this makes it hard to communicate with the whole classroom
Having taught in ClassTech rooms with the screen-stylus interface, I found I really missed it in a room without it. Being able to mark up projected material is very useful in teaching.
We really need the capability to play RealVideo on the computer (either files we link to on the internet or ones we bring on CD and load into the computer.) This was a big problem in past semesters in some of the classrooms.
No complaints--things went very well this semester.
toward the end of the semester, the phone kept ringing. i picked it up once or twice and it connected me to another room in the buliding, in which that room's phone was randomly ringing at the same time. it's easy to pick up and then hang up the phone, but multiple rings in the middle of class can be distracting.
Keep up the good work and good technology.
I always get fast and valuable and friendly help when I need it. Classtech does an outstanding job.
good support. My problems were fixed quickly.
I just hope I can keep teaching in a Class Tech Room! As far as the VCRs--I would hate to see them go since a lot of media is still just on tape--but understand if this had to go.
The problem I had last semester with ClassTech staff logging me off the computer when I was out of the room has NOT occurred this semester--thank you!
Please keep assigning me to a ClassTech room--I couldn't teach the same without it.
Love it
Thanks for doing a great job!
I teach an 8:05 class and often find that the room has been used in a previous evening. The computer is often left logged in with the mouse out of its holder. Sometimes, the remote keyboard is also not working. Luckily, there are corded back-ups but it would be nice if non-instructional users of the room left it as they found it.
I use whiteboard quite a lot, Maintance and supply of markers is very important and I had problem regarding these.
The DVD equipment in 2722 Bostian did not function during one class period. The problem was reported. It was "only somewhat amusing" to receive an email a day or two later informing me that the DVD equipment was not working.
