About Co-op
Working part-time at the local pizzeria while in school isn't a bad thing, but unless you're majoring in restaurant hospitality, you might be more interested in finding a job that's going to give you the real-world experience you'll need to be successful after graduation.
Our students don't just push papers or run errands for the boss - employers participating in the Co-op program are looking for students who want to make a real and significant contribution in the work they are doing.
"Co-op has been the best decision I’ve made in college. It not only allows me a break from semesters of tough classes, but it reinforces my education with hands-on experience." -- Nicky Seabrook, Chemical Engineering Major, Biogen Idec
If you join the NC State University Cooperative Education Program, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Explore career fields, and confirm whether your choice of major is the right one
- Work with state-of-the-art equipment in industry
- Experience "corporate culture" and work with professional adults and observe how they handle routine and unique job situations in your field
- Be well-paid for your hard work - program participants average more than $16 per hour
