Online Career Assessment

Once your counselor issues you a testing permit during your initial appointment, you will be able to take a number of useful assessment instruments online. Refer to your testing permit to determine which test(s) you need to take.

If you were asked to take:

  • the Strong Interest Inventory
and/or
  • the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)

proceed to the SkillsOne testing website by following the link to the right:

Once at the SkillOne website, you will need the account login and account password that your counselor provided you. At your first login you will leave the userid blank. You will define your userid as you take your first assessment. If you need to return to the SkillsOne website in order to resume a previously started assessment, you will need to remember your userid.

If you were asked to take:

  • Personality Research Form (PRF)
proceed to the SigmaTesting website by following the link to the right:

Once at the SigmaTesting website, you will need the Test Code and Password that your counselor provided you on your Testing Permit. On the left of the screen you will see a box labeled "Take a Test". Enter the Test Code and Password here and press Submit. Fill out the requested information on the next screen and you are ready to begin! If you need to return to the SigmaTesting website inorder to resume a previously started assessment, you will need be given information how to do so once you've started your testing.

 

If you were asked to use:

  • SIGI3

(valid UNITY ID is required)

proceed to the SIGI3website by following the link to the right:

(For non-enrolled students a User ID and password must be obtained from a counselor prior to use. Please contact the Counseling Center to schedule appointment)

SIGI 3 will provide you with another opportunity to assess career-related interests and values, as well as a means to search through a large database to help point you towards potential career areas that likely match your expressed interests and values. In addition, SIGI 3 provides up-to-date information about specific careers you have in mind, or those suggested by prior tests, including realistic descriptions of the career, the nature of the work, training, and educational requirements, salary expectations, etc. There is no additional charge for use of SIGI P3lus, and you will be given the opportunity to assign your own username and password within SIGI 3 so that previously entered information will be available for possible future SIGI 3 sessions
