Photography Classes

For photography classes & studio/darkroom use, participants must be age 18 or older and have health nsurance. All darkroom classes include a pass for access to the darkroom for the current semester. Workshops do not include a studio pass but workshop participants may purchase a studio pass at the level I price. The darkroom is available for use without taking a class.

Cancellations: For a refund, the Crafts Center staff must be notified of a cancellation at least 7 days before the class or workshop begins; $10 is non-refundable. If the class or workshop is cancelled by the Crafts Center, you will receive a full refund.


Absences: To receive the best experience and get the most out of your class, attendance at all classes is important as there are no provisions for make-up sessions for missed classes.

Capture the world using nature’s best lighting as our southern sun begins its journey into night. This is a special time rich in shadow play and an enriched saturation of color. In a mix of discussion and guided shoots, students in this digital photography based class will learn and exercise photographic skill while exploring great shooting opportunities within walking distance. PINHOLE MAGICpinhole photograph

From a few light tight boxes (oatmeal, shoe or metal cookie tin), construct your own collection of working cameras …we’ll provide metal for the lens along with all other supplies. After learning to load your camera with photographic paper, the class will venture out to take pictures around campus. Have fun as the magic of pinhole lies in the dreamlike imagery that comes to life during processing in the darkroom. Digitizing and advanced processes will also be explored. Visit Katy’s website:
