Fall Break 2003, Asheville, NC

Friday morning, the team went to the Habitat For Humanity Home Store and sorted building supplies and donations. Profits from sales goes to support the cost of building Habitat For Humanity houses.

After eating lunch at Westfeldt Park, the team spent an hour and a half doing trail clean-up along the river. Westfeldt Park is the last greenspace open to the public in Henderson County.

Saturday, we spent the entire day working at the Manna Food Bank. While there, the team took a tour and learned that the Manna Food Bank supplies food for seventeen area counties. Our first project for the day was to stuff several thousand envelopes with a fundraising message, as Manna relies upon the community for financial support. Our second project was to sort several thousand pounds of household items and food donations.
