Few people walk away from the Alternative Spring Break experience without stories to tell. Seemingly meaningless conversations with homeowners or insignificant gestures quickly evolve into life lessons and unforgettable memories as time and reflection take their toll. The question, then, is how do you explain to someone that has never had the experience what the experience is like?

The answer is Humanidad, an ongoing project within the Alternative Spring Break program that will take the stories and reflections of its participants and record them for posterity. More than just an outlet for sharing individual experiences, Humanidad will be a collection of submissions that will serve as a testament to public service, the power of the vision that is Habitat for Humanity, Global Village and the willingness of ordinary people to give part of themselves to strangers and the impact of those strangers upon our lives.
