Faculty
Each spring, the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics, & Public Service provides the opportunity for students to engage in meaningful service projects over Spring Break. Although the trips are led and planned primarily by students, faculty advisors are an essential component of the program.

Faculty participation provides a valuable academic affairs-student affairs link, and enables holistic student learning by connecting student learning with out-of-class experience. Faculty advisors guide student leaders in pre-trip preparations and participate in the service work with other team members. Throughout the process, faculty advisors continually challenge team leaders and participants to reflect on their experiences and the decisions that are being made.
"As always, I certainly looked forward to learning…as a life-long student, it was exciting for me to have the opportunity to spend a week in an entirely different environment, knowing that I would be excitedly stimulated out of my comfort zone. I looked forward to helping. As a counselor and educator, this is my forte."

~ Chris Chafin, ASB Faculty Advisor
