The LeaderShape Institute will be held on May 17th–22nd, 2005.
Since its inception in 1986, the flagship program, the LeaderShape Institute,
has developed a national reputation as one of the premier leadership development
programs for young adults. More than 12,000 young adults from more than 450
different colleges, universities, corporations and organizations across America
have graduated from the program. The LeaderShape Institute is highly regarded
as an intensive and energizing six-day program, which is open to any participant,
institution, or workplace interested in producing extraordinary results in an
organization while also developing a commitment to lead with a high level of
integrity.
Mission
To offer the highest quality state-of-the-art leadership programs focused primarily on young men and women in all settings of the LeaderShape Institute; to facilitate their application through follow-up advisory support to participants and sponsor; and to be a catalyst in expanding leadership programs centered on leading with integrity to new audiences. We will have succeeded when graduates of LeaderShape programs improve the quality of their respective organization and environments.
Expectations
- The purpose of the LeaderShape Institute is to produce a breakthrough in
the leadership capacity of participants. This highly interactive and energizing
program provides the tools for individuals to:
- Increase their commitment to act consistently with core ethical values,
personal values, and convictions.
- Enhance their capability to develop and enrich relationships as well
as strengthen their commitment to respect the dignity and contributions
of all people.
- Embrace the belief in a “healthy disregard for the impossible.”
- Develop the capability to produce extraordinary results.
- This is a commitment that LeaderShape makes to you and we request your commitment.
You will be presented with a Learning Agreement that will detail these expectations,
which you will be asked to sign when you arrive at the Institute.
- By making this commitment to create a breakthrough in your leadership capacity,
you have started down a path that will result in your ability to fulfill any
vision you choose. We are committed to helping you “lead with integrity”
as you work toward your vision.
- The LeaderShape Institute can be a life-changing event. In order for you
to get the most out of the Institute, you will need to make the choice to
“step-up” to the opportunities presented to you. We invite you
to start now and reorganize your life so you can take full advantage of the
Institute. Your commitment to participate, listen and take action will generate
the kinds of results we know are possible.
- If selected, we will be in touch with you prior to the LeaderShape Institute
to invite you to a mandatory orientation meeting where we will discuss expectations
and provide information about the Institute. Should you have questions, please
contact the staff in the NCSU Center for Student Leadership, Ethics &
Public Service directly.

your time with us working to better yourself and ultimately your community.

Applications
In order to attend the LeaderShape Institute,
you must be returning to NC State in the fall semester of 2005, either as an
undergraduate or a graduate student.
Application
