Required Experiences:

1. Attend the Discover 2 Retreat (September 11-13, 2009)

2. Complete a minimum of 2 Core LDS workshops (not including LDS 169 which is done at the Discover 2 retreat). Complete workshop reflections in the Orgsync system within 2 weeks of attendance. These reflections become part of your Visionary Leaders Certificate portfolio.

3. Complete 30 hour SERVE Project (community service) at an agency of your choice. Must complete by April 1, 2010. Complete a reflection in the Orgsync system by April 1, 2010.

4. Attend a Leadership Coaching appointment in the fall.

5. Attend the monthly "All LIA Community" meetings:

  • October 5, 2009
  • November 2, 2009
  • February 8, 2010
  • March 8, 2010
  • April 11, 2010 (Closing Program for 09-10)

Core Leadership Development Series (LDS) Workshops:

The Core LDS Workshops are offered each semester. You must complete 3 of the below 6 workshops during Discover 2 and the remaining 3 workshops during Discover 3. Be sure to register for them at the beginning of the semester as they fill up quickly. Enter them into your time management system so that you don't forget.

LDS 022 - Introduction to Leadership
LDS 111 - Working With Diverse Populations
LDS 116 - Leadership Practices Inventory
LDS 137 - Ethics and Actions
LDS 149 - Servant Leadership
LDS 169 - Developing Compelling Visions for Change (done at the retreat)

Suggested Optional Additional Experiences:

•  Participate in a CSLEPS service-learning trip (AFB, AWB or ASB) or a club service trip
•  Attend a leadership conference (WILD, LEAD, NCARH, SAACURH, etc)
•  Attend the LeaderShape Institute
