Visionary Leaders Certificate

The Visionary Leaders Certificate (VLC) Program is a great way to experience the Leadership Development Series (LDS) and apply what you've learned while attending NC State. Participants who complete the program (requirements below) earn a Visionary Leaders Certificate signed by the Director of this office, the Dean of your College, and the Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs.

The Visionary Leaders Certificate is earned by:

  1. Attending 10 Leadership Development Series workshops - 6 required (noted as "core" workshops) and 4 elective workshops of your choice.

  2. Please note that students who participate in the Women's Center "Student Bridges" Program, the First Year College Leadership Potential Retreat (1 Core + 3 Electives) or participated in the Emerging Leaders Program (Fall 2003 - Spring 2007) will receive credit for the 4 elective workshops or as indicated.

  3. Completing 20 hours of community service - this may be done through multiple service projects or at one location / one agency.

  4. Creating a Leadership Portfolio ... preparation instructions.

  5. After completing your Leadership Portfolio, you may bring it by our office. At that time you will schedule a meeting with one of our staff members to review your portfolio. Students who complete this process will then be awarded a Visionary Leader Certificate.

2009 - 2010 Portfolio Deadline

Deadline: Friday April 2, 2010. Turn your completed portfolio into Leslie Beddingfield in 3115 Talley. She will then schedule you for an interview with a staff member.
