Operation Christmas Child
Box Size Requirements:
- A standard shoe box is requested. It is hard to pack and ship boot boxes
- we ask that you do not use them.
- If you do not have a shoebox to donate, you can buy a plastic shoebox at
a store (ie: Walmart) for about $1.
Suggested items for shoeboxes:
- Decide if you are packing for a BOY or GIRL
- Choose an age range for your items: (2-4), (5-9), or (10-14)
- Toys: small cars, balls, dolls, stuffed animals, plastic
kazoos, harmonicas, yo-yos, small Etch A Sketch®, toys that light up or
make noise (with extra batteries), Slinky, etc.
- School supplies: pens, pencils and sharpener, crayons or
markers, stamps and ink pad sets, coloring books, writing pads or paper, solar
calculators, etc.
- Hygiene items: toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, comb, washcloth,
etc.
- Other: hard candy, lollipops, mints, gum, sunglasses, flashlights
with extra batteries, ball caps, socks, T-shirts, toy jewelry sets, hair clips,
watches, small picture books, etc.
Miscellaneous
- We will provide the wrapping paper and tape ... just bring your items with
you to the program.
- We'll have music and enjoy our time together wrapping.
- If you are financially able, please include a $5 donation to cover the cost
of shipping.
What if I just want to drop off a box already made up?
- Wrap the lid and box SEPERATELY (all boxes are inspected
before shipping), place your items inside and put a rubberband around it.
- Make sure that you put a post-it-note on top with the gender and age the
box is for.
- Drop off at the program or at 3115 Talley Student Center no later than noon
on Friday November 12th.
