Location: Flores, Guatemala

The Guatemala Medical Team will be working with Hospital Shalom in Flores, Guatemala. The hospital is a non-profit group that primarily serves those in the Northern portion of Guatemala but, there are patients that come from all over the country. The hospital maintains two full operating rooms along with multiple exam rooms on the campus. With three full time physicians and a nursing staff, the hospital stays fairly busy seeing a wide range of patients daily.

While on the trip, students will have the ability to serve alongside health professionals at the hospital, and through outreach clinics into the community. This trip will offer the chance to explore healthcare in Guatemala both in the local hospital setting and in the greater context of the country. The focus of this trip is for students who have an interest in the health care field.
