Service NC State (SNCS) is sponsored by the Center for Student Leadership, Ethics & Public Service as the definitive service event to welcome new students to NC State's campus, and as a way to impact the community. This event is open to all students, faculty, staff and the Raleigh community and role models the university's mission to impact and support our local and global community.
We are pleased to announce that Service NC State 2008, held on Saturday August 23rd, was held simultaneously at NC State, UNC Chapel Hill and East Carolina University. Volunteers were also provided by Duke University, Meredith College, NC Central University, Peace College, St. Augustine's College and local community members. This made for a total of 4,000 volunteers from the triangle. The day's goal of packaging 1 MILLION MEALS was surpassed!
We are proud to announce that a total of 1,010,374 meals were packaged in 8 hours by the 3 locations.
