Position: Campaign Intern
Description: Environment North Carolina is a statewide, citizen based advocacy organization. We work on behalf of citizens to protect our environment, health and future from powerful special interests. This fall Environment North Carolina will be working to put Clean Energy Solutions to Global Warming in the public eye during these key elections. North Carolina’s Representatives have a chance to lead by committing to key foundational principles. However, persuading them to be part of America’s clean energy future will require building a large coalition of businesses and organizations to show them broad support. In addition we will be getting their attention by maintaining a strong presence in the media to show how important new energy solutions are to Americans. A Campaign Intern will learn how to organize and run a successful press conference. He/She will write Letters to the Editors, teach others to do the same, and set up Editorial Board Meetings with North Carolina’s leading papers. He/she will outreach to key North Carolina businesses and organizations, bring them on as coalition partners and develop relationships with them over the fall.
Times/Skills: flexible, 8 hr/wk ideal, no additional skills are needed
