This group is dedicated to keeping families together and addressing issues that arise after a family member has taken a relative child in their home to prevent the need for foster care or to help with a family situation. This group will provide support to the caregivers by providing community information and information on relevant issues regarding the children they are caring for. During the meeting, we will also be providing a mentoring and relevant issues group for the children. The intention of the group Kinship in Action (KIA) is to support a positive relationship between the caregiver and the child(ren) they have taken in. We need about 3-5 volunteers to be available every first Tuesday to provide mentoring and help administer structured learning programs.
