Girls on the Run is a life-changing character development program for girls ages 8-12 that uses running to teach values and a sense of self. The program combines training to participate in a non-competitive 1 or 3.1 mile walk/run event with self-esteem enhancing, uplifting workouts and a community service project.
Girls on the Run of the Triangle (GOTR) is currently seeking the following volunteers for our upcoming Summer Camp and Fall season.
Volunteer Head GOTR Coach- the Head Coaches’ main responsibility is to prepare and deliver the Girls on the Run curriculum for the 12 week season. Throughout the lessons the coach will serve as a role model having a healthy lifestyle and positive attitude. Most importantly, the Head Coach will have fun with the girls and encourage positive behaviors. *Deadline for Summer Camp application process is May 1st; camp sessions begin June 19th 2006.

Volunteer Assistant GOTR Coach- the Assistant Coaches' main responsibility is to serve as an encourager, cheerleader and *superstar* supporter during workouts and 5K runs. Girls on the Run of the Triangle (GOTR) is currently seeking volunteer committee members to join our year-round committees.
Marketing/Communications Committee member- The Communications committee is involved in the design, creation and execution of the Girls on the Run marketing materials. The committee produces several pieces a year, semi-annual newsletter, an annual appeal letter, brochures and registration material, and website content.
Fundraising Committee member- The Fundraising committee is charged with creatively brainstorming and implementing new initiatives throughout the year for Girls on the Run of the Triangle.
Program Support Committee member- The Program Support committee creates and organizes all coaches and lesson plan materials as well as race day activities. This committee works hand in hand with the GOTR Staff to ensure a successful Girls on the Run season! |
