Service-Leadership Consultants (SLC) was established in the spring of 1999 as an official student organization and is advised through the Center for Service-Leadership, Ethics & Public Service. As trained consultants, we work with requesting organizations from across campus to develop and deliver training workshops specifically aimed to fulfill their unique needs. We also develop and deliver workshops as part of the Leadership Development Series. SLC is also responsible for planning and presenting at NC State’s Fall Leadership Conference. Individual consultants have also been asked to present workshops at national conferences.

The goals of SLC are specific to each individual consultant. For instance, some use SLC to gain exposure to NC State students who are very active in campus leadership. They then use these students as a model for where they’d like to be themselves. Others are members of SLC because they have a desire to give back to the campus community by helping others develop leadership skills. A common goal, however, is to enhance presentation and leadership skills.
