The Computer Training Unit has been providing leading-edge computer training and certification since 1988. From introductory courses on powerful office software applications to professional certification training in the most popular technical career paths, training is available on a wide range of computer systems and software. To stay ahead of the technology curve, our staff of program developers works diligently to anticipate emerging training needs. An expanding catalog of programs addresses tomorrow's most pressing computer application, network administration and certification training needs. You can attend classes in person or choose from hundreds of courses taught online.
Impacts and Achievements
CTU continued to make a concerted effort to identify and offer only the most popular application classes while eliminating those topics that routinely had been offered in the past but frequently did not attract enough enrollments to be implemented. Of the application classes that were advertised, 62 percent were held in 2006-2007.
The Technical Training Advisor with the Computer Training Unit now conducts student satisfaction surveys as a post assessment practice for the various certification courses, like Security + and A + Hardware. The questions on the survey request feedback from the participants in the following areas:
- increased knowledge of skills
- changes that have occurred in work habits or work procedures
- career benefits that have been gained
- what benefits were realized back "on the job" from the hands-on experiences during the training.
