Keeping you connected

When it comes to computing, it’s all about connections. And NC State is fully wired. In 2006, Princeton Review ranked the school among the 25 “Most Connected Campuses” in the nation. The NC State campus offers students access to nine centrally supported computing labs with 335 PCs and Macs in Windows, Unix and Linux operating environments.

Campus wide, more than 100 labs and 3,000 machines are available. Most labs are open 24x7 and students can also take advantage of the university’s wireless network. The new Learning Commons at D.H. Hill library offers 94 machines, as well as eBoards and a Digital Media Lab. And the new Virtual Computing Lab is a remote access service that lets students reserve a computer with applications such as Matlab, Maple, SAS, Solidworks, and many others running in various environments, including Linux, Solaris, and Windows.
