Multicultural Faculty Group

Our focus is on recruiting and retaining high quality multicultural faculty.

The idea for this group came from a small group of Hispanic, Black, and Asian assistant professors who have recently begun working at NC State and who are interested in having some social networking opportunities.

Mentoring: Example departmental faculty mentoring programs at NCSU

Giving and Getting Career Advice: A Guide for Junior and Senior Faculty developed at the University of Michigan. Some parts are specific to UM, but most apply equally well to NCSU.

Tenure and Promotion: ADEPT (Awareness of Decisions in Evaluating Promotion and Tenure) Instrument developed at Georgia Tech.


Past Events and News:

There was an inaugural informal (no-host) networking meeting and happy hour held at Mitch's on Hillsborough Street on Friday, February 13, 2009 at 5:00pm. Those that came out met other faculty members across campus that were interested in multicultural networking and discussed possible goals that they envisioned for this group.
