Building Future Faculty is a program that invites doctoral students and recently graduated Ph.D.’s to NCSU for workshops on preparing for academic careers.  In addition, the program introduces the participants to our campus and the faculty in a department most directly related to the participant’s area of study and research.  This is a great way for NCSU faculty to meet individuals who are seeking to become professors and who are interested in academic careers at NCSU. Sample candidate evaluation form Using an evaluation form helps standardize the process and makes evaluations more objective. It can help keep all of the responsibilities of the position in view when evaluating candidates. This form was adapted from one produced by the Columbia University Earth Institue Advance team.

Best practices for search committees This page gives practical advice to search committees on how to broaden the pool, ways to conduct search committee meetings and evaluate candidates. The "candidate selection" section is excellent! The Columbia University Earth Institute Advance team created this page.
