Native American Heritage Month (November 1-30)
Annual campus-wide month long celebration of Native American culture for all students, faculty and staff. The events encourage and educated the campus community on the rich heritage, contributions, global influence and emerging issues of Native American culture. The month long celebration generally features a film and discussion ($1,000), lecture featuring a nationally renown scholar ($5,000) and a cultural exhibitions, performance or gala ($5,000). Total: $11,000

Native American Pow Wow & Banquet (April)

Annual 2-day celebration of Native American culture and for all students, alumni, faculty and staff. The banquet features a keynote speakers and recognizes outstanding achievement by Native American students in service, leadership and scholarship (2,000). The outdoor Pow Wow features traditional native regalia, dance, food, music, drumming, arts and crafts ($10,000). Total: $12,000

Native American Symposium: The Native American Symposium is a summer educational and transitional experience (post-orientation) sponsored by the Office of Native American Student Affairs. Its purpose is to foster a sense of community for incoming first-year students and to provide them with information about campus support, personnel, coping strategies and Native American heritage and contributions as a basis for helping ensure their academic, social and emotional success at NC State. ($3,000)
