A Closed Circuit TV (CCTV) is a magnifier that displays enlarged images for the student to see on a monitor. A CCTV can be used to enlarge in-class assignments, tests, and other items. The student can use a CCTV at the DSO or, when requested, a CCTV may be placed in the classroom at the request of the student. When needed for course access, magnification equipment is also available for loan to departments or for installation in student-used facilities on campus. Responsibilities are as follows:
Instructor
- Provide magnification at the department or schedule testing through the DSO.
- For the student to use magnification at the DSO, it may be necessary for the instructor to be flexible about when the student takes the test for various reasons such as back-to-back classes, two final exams in a 24-hour period, DSO space, or staff availability.
Student
- Meet with the instructor to determine whether the test will be at the department or at the DSO.
- Any test scheduling conflicts should be addressed with the instructor and resolved well in advance of the test.
DSO
- Provide equipment and testing space when given at least one week of advance notice , a completed Modified Testing Agreement form, and when space is available.
