STUDENT MISSION OPERATIONS CENTER

The Science House on the N.C. State University Campus is the site for the Student Mission Operations Center for central North Carolina. Pine Hall Elementary School is the other active SMOC in North Carolina.

This Science House SMOC is open to any middle school teacher who wishes to learn how to run their own local mission operations center. Workshops are held periodically for teachers to learn how to use the EarthKam products in interdisciplinary lessons.

This website will provide coverage of the EarthKam missions through the use of the NC EarthKam Web Forum (electronic bulletin board), display of digital photographs from North Carolina requests as they are released from NASA, and broadcast video via the web of the activites during the mission at the Science House. If your class would like to monitor the shuttle's flight path and request photographs through the Science House SMOC, contact John C. Park (park@unity.ncsu.edu) for details. Requests can be made via email, fax or on the EarthKam Forum.
