Welcome to NC STATE University Radiation Safety

The objective of North Carolina State University’s Radiation Safety is to assist all levels of the research and academic community in fulfilling the commitment to furnish a place of employment and learning that is as free as possible from recognized radiation hazards that could be potentially harmful to institutional personnel and all citizens in the surrounding community. In order to accomplish this objective, the Radiation Safety staff provides training and consultations, conducts routine safety inspections in laboratories, assists researchers with the acquisition and disposal of radioactive materials and radiation-producing devices and maintains radiation emergency response capabilities.
