SAFETY PLAN CHANGE APPROVAL
Safety Plans are useful emergency response and training tools only if
they are updated as necessary. As operations, chemicals, processes, or
hazardous materials in the work area change, the Safety Plan must be updated. Updates are submitted utilizing the Safety plan Database. For more information on the acces and use of the Safety Plan Database visit our Safety Plan help section.

Class 1 Modifications
You must submit the modification within fifteen (15) calendar days after the change is put into effect.
Class 2 Modifications
Prior to implementing changes, the person responsible for the plan must submit the update request
EH&S will determine if the modification poses a significant adverse effect on workplace safety, or is likely to result in noncompliance with federal, state, or local regulations.
Class 3 Modifications
Class 3 modifications are much like Class 2, but may have a more significant impact on workplace safety, especially areas adjacent to the area covered by the Safety Plan. Prior to implementing changes, the person responsible for the Plan must submit a modification request to EH&S
- EH&S will determine if the modification poses a significant adverse effect on workplace safety, or is likely to result in noncompliance with federal, state, or local regulations.
