eGames (go »)

The First Annual eGames were held in April 2009 and were NC State's inaugural Olympics-style competition for students to showcase their ability to sell their ideas to the entrepreneurial community. From business plans to elevator pitches; from working prototypes to visual demonstrations; students competed for prizes totaling $30,000. Team and individual competition opportunities are available in areas that include but are not limited to web/IT innovations; B2B and retail products and services; bio tech and energy; as well as social, nonprofit and education development. Participate in the 2010 eGames as a competitor, mentor, organizer, or judge. Why not?

ELS (go »)

The Entrepreneurs' Lecture Series is designed to showcase outstanding innovation and entrepreneurship among NC State alumni and partners. This semi-annual event features a lecture from prominent entrepreneurial leaders followed by networking. Please join the faculty, staff and students of the EI for this exciting event, featuring Christopher Evans, on Thursday October 1, 2009.

Tours

Learning is more than just the experience in the classroom. Through EI, we take students directly to those who have lived entrepreneurship or been a part of a start. These are life-altering opportunities that change students' outlooks on their careers. Join us and get a better understanding of what you can do to be a part of something entrepreneurial. Tours are available to entrepreneurship program students.

Local Tours
Join us for a day of learning from local entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial companies. Each semester, we spend a day with local, high-growth companies of all sizes learning about their start. The Fall Local Tours will be held on October 16, 2009. We will be visiting the following companies:
We will only be taking a select group of students selected through an application process. Apply now!
Silicon Valley
For several years now, the Engineering Entrepreneurs Program has traveled to Silicon Valley over spring break to visit entrepreneurial legends such as Google, Apple, and Facebook. Starting spring break 2009, we expanded this trip by opening it to all entrepreneurship students. This trip is made possible largely in part by the generosity of EEP alumni and friends. During the trip, students meet with entrepreneurs and executives from small start-ups to large multi-national companies. Proudly, many of these entrepreneurs are NC State alumni. The 2010 Silicon Valley Trip will be during spring break (March 15-19, 2010). Companies will be announced in the fall. This trip is open to all NC State entrepreneurship students at minimal cost. We will accept applications throughout the year, so apply now!
China
China? Yes, China! The Entrepreneurship Initiative is working toward hosting a trip to provide an international complement to the highly successful RTP and Silicon Valley tours. A group of students will visit Beijing and Tinghua to learn more about the world's fastest-growing economy by visiting universities and businesses. The tour will provide an experience well beyond the classroom or lab. Students will see and learn first-hand about the cultural, economic, and political climate of a country with which our future in inextricably linked. This will be a life-changing journey for the students who participate.
