Wolfalert Safety Notice

At approximately 9:54 AM on Monday, December 10, 2012, the N.C. State University Police received a call from an Emergency Blue Light Phone located at E.S. King Village (University housing for Graduate Students and their families). The caller advised that he had been robbed at knife point of his personal belongings and that the subject was running away from the area towards Method Road and Ligon Street. The victim was identified as a student of NCSU and a resident of E.S. King Village.

The N.C. State University Police responded and upon their arrival in the area, located the suspect running into the wooded area on the east side of Hutton Street north of Ligon Street. The Raleigh Police Department was requested to assist in the search as well as to deploy a K-9 Unit to assist.

At approximately 10:25 AM, the suspect was located and taken into custody by N.C State Police and Raleigh Police. The suspect was identified as Michael Anthony Hinton, B/M, age 18, of 2910 Woods Place, Raleigh, NC.

Through the collaborative efforts of the N.C. State University Police, the Raleigh Police Department, and quick use of the Emergency Blue Light Phone by the victim, Hinton was quickly taken into custody and charged with Robbery With a Dangerous Weapon by the NC State Police. He has been taken to the Wake County Detention Center and placed under Bond.
