Three Suspects Arrested in Shooting
6:00 p.m. update:
A North Carolina State University Police Department investigation has revealed that three suspects were involved in the Wolf Village shooting incident on Monday morning. They have each been charged with one count of attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon to inflict serious injury.
The suspects are: Ryan Alexander Barnes, 20; Leroy Barnes Jr., 19; and Terrell Maurice Grimes, 16.
Ryan Barnes is a sophomore at NC State, the other two suspects are unaffiliated with the university.
During the course of the investigation, police also arrested NC State sophomore Whitney Shanice Blakeney, 19, and charged her with maintaining a dwelling for manufacture, sale and distribution of a controlled substance (marijuana).
5:00 p.m. update:
Three suspects are in custody, with charges pending.
8:30 a.m. update:
Campus police continue to investigate an early morning shooting on campus. It appears that the shooting was not random, but a targeted action.
The victims' injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

Two Individuals Detained following shooting
Monday, July 28, 2008. 3:45 a.m.
Two individuals have been detained for questioning following a shooting shortly after midnight Monday morning.
Two victims were shot near Wolf Village at the edge of the campus near Western Boulevard. The victims were transported to Wake Med.
Neither the individuals detained nor the victims are affiliated with the University.
Anyone who may have information about this incident should contact Campus Police at 515-3000.
Members of the campus community should be aware of their surroundings and report suspicious persons or activities to Campus Police immediately.
