The member-run Encore Movie Group organizes a monthly afternoon lunch and movie, usually of the art-house variety. Contact the office if you would like your email address added to the notification list. You must be an Encore member to participate.
The Encore Writers Group is not a class; it’s a group of interested Encore members who gather informally. Are you (or do you want to be) a writer? Join us! We provide fascinating reading, lively discussion, constructive feedback, and a series of deadlines to keep you productive. We currently have about ten members, and we welcome anyone who would like to join us. The group meets at noon on the first Monday of every month in room 232 of the McKimmon Center. You must be an Encore member to participate. The group is facilitated by Bob Lathlaen.
The Trailblazers go on weekly hikes on various trails in the Triangle. Contact the office if you would like your email address added to the notification list. You must be an Encore member to participate.
This group for Encore members is open to all levels of knitters and meets Tuesdays at 1:00 PM at the Bruegger's in Ridgewood Shopping Center.
Encore records select courses to make available through Raleigh cable Channel 18. These videos and DVDs are also available for rental to Encore members, and to retirement communities and senior centers for use in their programming. Contact the office for pricing information. The Cooperating Raleigh Colleges Program (CRC) is a voluntary organization comprised of NC State University, Meredith College, Peace College, St. Augustine's College, St. Mary's School and Shaw University for the purpose of developing and conducting cooperative educational activities. CRC broadcasts previously-taped Encore courses. Click Here (pdf) to see the latest schedule.
