Volunteer Opportunities

RaleighEncore has many volunteer opportunities available -- you can teach a course, present a colloquium, or participate in one of the committees that guide and support Encore: Finance & Budget, Membership Development and Marketing, Program Development, Activities and Services, and Volunteerism and Outreach. Descriptions of what these committees do and the role they play in Encore is available in the Encore office.

Encore also relies on members to serve as Class Hosts. Any Encore member enrolled in a six-week course may volunteer to be a class host. The hosts serve as a liaison between the instructor, class members, and the Encore staff, and helps ensure all runs smoothly. Contact Lee-ann Courtney to volunteer, 919.513.2047.

Each year, Encore members also participate in a number of one-day or half-day volunteer projects. In recent years, we have helped with the Big Sweep waterways clean-up, the NC Public Television fundraising festival, the Emerging Issues Forum, and faculty and student research projects. Watch for class announcements and emails about this year’s volunteer opportunities. These are a great way to meet your fellow Encore members and help the campus and the greater Raleigh community.
