NCSU Energy Management - NCSU Consumption
In 2004-05, NCSU used a total of over 1,856,000 Million BTU of energy. Forty-five percent (45%) of that energy was electricity for lighting, cooling, equipment, and appliances. About fifty-five percent (55%) of the energy usage is natural gas and oil used for producing steam to heat buildings or for process heating (cooking, laboratories).
NC State has established a commitment to reduce the Annual Energy Consumption per Square Foot, adjusted for weather, by a minimum of 4% over a 10 year period.
