John Warner is an Assistive Technology Specialist who joined the NCSU DSO team in June of 2008. Prior to his arrival at NC State, John has had working experience at several multi-national corporations in Virginia and Maryland including Moog Components Group, Black & Decker and the Institute for Distance and Distributed Learning at Virginia Tech.
Upon graduation from high school in 1996, John joined the United States Marine Corps Reserve specializing in infantry and logistics. He toured several duty stations around the country including Pearl Harbor, Hawaii and Camp Pendleton, California. While serving in the Marine Corps, John was able to complete his Bachelor of Arts from Salisbury State University majoring in Mass Media Communications.
After his Honorable Discharge from service, he worked several years in various Information Technology technical support positions, and completed his Masters of Arts in Education at Virginia Tech where he focused on Instructional Technology and Design. While completing work towards his M.A, John served as the Manager of Information Technology for the Virginia Tech College of Liberal Arts and studied at ECPI Technical College to earn an Associates of Applied Science degree in Information Technology and CompTIA A+ computer hardware certification.
