A TTY (short for "TeleTYpe") is an electronic device that allows persons with hearing and/or speech impairments to communicate over the telephone lines . The user sends information by typing it on a keyboard, and receives information on a screen or paper printout. TTY users can communicate with other TTY users, or with users of voice telephones through the state's Telecommunications Relay Service (check your local phone book for the listing in your state). North Carolina's Relay Service can be reached by dialing 711. Below is our growing list of TTY locations on the North Carolina State University campus. If you have or are aware of a TTY that is not included in this list, please email Ricky Lee so we can add it to our list.
