Women
Administrators in North Carolina Higher Education (WANCHE)
About
WANCHE
Women
Administrators in North Carolina Higher Education (WANCHE)
is North Carolina's response to the challenge of the American
Council on Education's National Identification Project (ACE/NIP)
for the advancement of women in higher education administration.
Operating as a network, rather than as a membership organization,
WANCHE is led by the state coordinator who is appointed by the
ACE director of the National Identification Project and an executive
board of administrators representative of public and private two-
and four-year colleges and universities. Participation in WANCHE
is open to all women administrators as well as to other women
and men who subscribe to its vision, mission, and goals.
As noted above, WANCHE does not require "membership." The
organization has no joining fee or annual dues. Participation
in the organization is voluntary; anyone who is in a leadership
position or expresses an interest will automatically become an
"affiliate."
WANCHE
at NC State
Several
women from NC State have been active with the WANCHE organization
in past years. Vice Provost Joanne
Woodard (919-515-4559) is the campus liaison for NC State.
