NC State University NCBI Team
NC State University’s NCBI Team has served as a campus affiliate since May 2001. Our team has grown to over 30 active team members utilizing the NCBI model in multiple ways to enhance our campus community. Our team is part of the Carolina Coalition. Partnership with this dynamic group has allowed us to grow into an effective team. We have hosted two Carolina Coalition Train-the-Trainer workshops and are very excited about his opportunity to host the Campus Conference. Raleigh, North Carolina, the state’s capital city, is consistently ranked as one of the nation’s best places to live and work. Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) Airport
In the heart of North Carolina, the Raleigh-Durham International (RDU) Airport combines southern hospitality and high-tech amenities in one of the friendliest airports for travel. Direct flights are available from every region of the country by all major airlines including American, Continental, Delta, Northwest, United, and USAirways. Train & Bus
Raleigh is also serviced by both Amtrak and Greyhound. Located in the heart of downtown, each station offers easy access to the campus of NC State. Taxi service can be obtained to and from the hotel for around $7-10 each way. Eight rental car agencies are located at RDU airport and shuttle service to and from hotels is available by several means.

Hotel
Located in the heart of the state capital’s downtown, complete with great entertainment, museums, attractions, and dining is the non-smoking Raleigh Marriott City Center Hotel. The Marriot has beautiful accommodations, an ideal location, and unmatched amenities. King guest rooms and executive king guest suites are available for $129 (including internet). On Campus
Because of difficult financial times, we will also have a limited number of rooms available on-campus for $29/night. The rooms are similar to a motel room and are located in a residence hall on the NC State University campus. Rooms include a full size bed, cable TV, telephone, linen, private bath, and toiletries. Pre-Conference activities are planned for Wednesday, Nov. 18th. Plans include a tour of local historically Black colleges and universities, North Carolina Central University, St. Augustine’s College, and Shaw University. Transportation will leave from the Marriott Hotel and Avent Ferry Complex beginning at 1:00 p.m. and return at 4:30 p.m. For more information, please contact Niambi Hall-Campbell at 919-889-8669.

The NC State NCBI Team will host a welcome reception for participants on the eve of the conference in the newly renovated 1911 Building located in the heart of North Campus. This will be a great opportunity for participants to get acquainted with campus and members of the NC State community as well as reconnect with each other. Please plan to attend this opening event at 6:00 p.m.
The Talley Student Center will be the primary site of the conference activities. Talley Student Center is conveniently located on NC State’s Central Campus. Talley Student Center is walking distance from many local restaurants as well as a variety of on campus eateries. For a floor plan map of the facilities go to: www.ncsu.edu/student_center/maps.html.
The conference fee is $360 if you register by October 1, $375 after that date. Breakfast and lunch are included. There is no cost to participants for the pre-conference HBCU Tour. No refunds will be given after October 30, 2009; refunds prior to that date will exclude a $25 processing fee.
