Welcome to Environmental Sciences and Natural Resources Academic Programs (ESNR) at NC State University. We are dedicated to tracking and coordinating the extraordinary array of environmentally-related courses, degree programs, and special projects sponsored by NC State’s colleges and departments. Our goal is to provide you with access to the information and advice you need to chart an appropriate path through NC State, whether you are interested in addressing global concerns, studying national issues, or helping to preserve North Carolina’s reputation for spectacular natural resources and outstanding recreation.

Exploring All Environmental Disciplines

NC State is one of the few universities in the nation to maintain academic programs across the full array of disciplines contributing to modern environmental practices. In addition to specialty programs involving every area of natural resources, NC State supports programs devoted to studying the environmental aspects of agriculture, forestry, marine, earth and atmospheric sciences, engineering, landscaping and architectural design, business management, education, and social sciences.

The academic resources offered by these NC State departments find a central point of connection through the ESNR Working Group, which guides undergraduate academic programs in environmental areas, and the ESNR Office, which serves as a central clearinghouse of information vital to keeping these programs and their participants up-to-date on environmental issues and activities that affect our campus, state, nation, and world.
