Shelton Leadership Challenge Institute - TAKE II (Second Course)
What is the Shelton Leadership Challenge Institute - TAKE II (Second Year Course)?
The Course allows graduates from the first year course to expand their knowledge and skills of what it takes to be a great leader. Attendance at the First Year Course is a pre-requisite for this course. The experience will expand on the five Shelton cornerstones of leadership development: Honesty, Integrity, Diversity, Compassion and Social Responsibility. This course will focus on social responsibility through learning how to integrate the leadership cornerstones, social action processes, and project management techniques.
The course will also focus on the following elements of leadership: how to build a team effectively; strategic visioning and planning; trustworthiness; loyalty; diversity and inclusion; public speaking; recognition; resource development; and leadership roles. The teams will be presented with a project (mission) to complete by the end of the week-long experience, incorporating the leadership elements listed above. The program design emphasizes hands-on experience with the teams taking responsibility to follow-through and complete the mission.
The Shelton Leadership Center seeks to provide hands-on activities that assist developing young leaders to become more confident leaders back in their communities.
