Dr. Isadore and Cynthia Peppe Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences Scholarship Endowment
To honor and remember his parents, the late Isadore and Cynthia Peppe, Major General Timothy A. Peppe (the “Donor”) established a permanent endowment in The North Carolina Agricultural Foundation, Inc. This endowment will provide scholarship awards to students majoring in any area in the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences. Isadore Peppe, who retired as a U.S. Army colonel, fought in both WWII and the Korean War (during which and spent 37 months as a Prisoner of War). Over the years, between Army service stints, he earned his bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech, graduated from dental school at Georgetown University and completed his master’s degree in public health at Johns Hopkins University. His wife, Cynthia Grobert Peppe, attended Tusculum College in Tennessee, Methodist College in Fayetteville and Austin Peay State College. All three of their children graduated from college -- daughters, Susan and Cynthia, from the University of Tennessee and son, Tim, from N.C. State.
Major General Timothy A. Peppe (RET, USAF), who earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science in 1970 is a 2003 recipient of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences’ Outstanding Alumnus Award as well as the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Department of Food, Bioprocessing and Nutrition Sciences.
