Leadership Experiential Learning
Preparing students for the workforce and for purposeful lives requires the development of complex skills that can best be internalized by real-life active learning experiences, collaborative problem solving, and exposure to diverse people, environments, and ideas.
Transferring leadership theory into practice and developing leadership skills for a lifetime of purposeful action is our transformational goal.
The NC State leadership experience must be rich in exploring societal needs, understanding global issues, and in preparing students for purposeful action.
Leadership Through Philanthropy Program
This student-led program will connect students to the community through projects and community parnerships, while learning strategic philanthropic skills.
Collegiate Leadershape© Summer Conference
This exemplary program provides an opportunity for NC State students to focus on "leading with integrity", while developing a personal leadership vision. An important outcome is that NC State students form a network of peers who value leadership and service.
Active Learning in a Global Context
Whether local or global, experiential cross-cultural learning and service, from local to global is often acknowledged as the most transformative experience of university life. Expanding opportunities for engaged scholarhip will connect the academic study of leadership with real-life experiences. The focus will be to increase support for more students to engage in service-learning, study abroad, alternative spring break, and individually designed experiential learning.
There are naming opportunities and giving options at every gift level in each department and college at NC State. We look forward to discussing your investment in shaping the leaders of the state, nation and world, whether it's by supplementing a program or by making a truly transforming gift.
