History

The current Hillsborough Building is the product of a major renovation in which the State Capitol Life Insurance Building was purchased and converted, beginning in 1976, to house NC State offices and classrooms. After two years of renovation work, the building was brought to University standards. The four-story structure containing a total area of 39, 944 square feet, is currently occupied by the Office of Information Technology (OIT).
